Summary
At a certain point you just have to wonder if maybe Japan's a bad place to be. Or, at least, that it will be in the not-too-distant future. It seems to be forever beset with weird creatures, spirits and monsters. The Japan of God Eater 2: Rage Burst is no exception.
The world's population is all but decimated, with Earth having become beset by mysterious monsters known as Aragami. One organisation stands between mankind and extinction - Fenrir. The group was founded to exterminate the Aragami using super-weapons called god arcs, developed using the cells of an Aragami.
Now, it's three years after the events of God Eater Resurrection. A red rain sparks a terrifying pandemic known as the black plague. With no known cure, it has a mortality rate of 100%. Members of the Special Unit 'Blood', an affiliate of Fenrir, are sent to investigate and this is where the player steps in. They must take control of the newest recruit to master exotic weaponry, fight enormous monsters and cooperate with the others who are fighting for humanity in this action RPG.
There are plenty of ways to develop your character in the way you want to, with rich character and customisation options, as well as over 200 blood arts that can enhance your attacks.
Players can also get into the mix to do cooperative battle, teaming up with three friends online to take on the most difficult missions. That even extends to players on other consoles, with cross play and cross save functionality.
