Summary
2016 marked a slightly different tack for Milestone with its series of officially licensed MotoGP games, with Valentino Rossi: The Game focusing on... well, we don't need to spell that out. Milestone is getting back to its roots with the 2017 outing, however. No more ranch, rally or Flat Track modes - just pure MotoGP with a strong emphasis on realism.
Perhaps one of the clearest signs of this is the addition of a brand new feature that aims to satisfy the needs of the biggest MotoGP enthusiasts out there - a garage section that puts you with your rider as he's preparing, chatting with technicians and generally immersing you in the MotoGP experience.
The realism extends onto the track, too. Milestone has listened to the community and retuned the AI. Your opponents will behave more live real life riders, with variation in how they perform that even goes so far as to mimic the styles of real racers. Series fans will notice that opponents are more aggressive and that overtaking is a whole new ballgame.
For gamers looking to take a step further, there's the option to go even further into the world of MotoGP. After completing their first championship, players will be able to have a Managerial Career, putting themselves in the shoes of team manager and making calls that will affect how the team performs at the World Championship. You'll still take to the track as the rider, but if you want you can also oversee the improvement of staff across 10 key departments, including Technicians, PR and Marketing, R&D and Nutritionists, with real impact you'll be able to see on the track.
Of course, the game also covers off on everything you'd expect from a MotoGP title - the main MotoGP championship is in there, but so are Moto2 and Moto3; and all the bikes, riders and tracks of the current season are included too. There are 76 historical riders from 125cc, 250cc and 500cc, as well, of course, the customisable My GP mode and a multiplayer mode. In short, everything a true MotoGP fan could ask for.
