Summary

Things sure have moved on from the original run of Wolfenstein games. It's 1980and World War II is a distant memory. The Nazis, however, are not. BJ Blazkowicz, our hero and protagonist for the two games since the series rebooted, has gone missing after a mission into Nazi-occupied Paris. His two daughters, Jess and Soph, are forced to go looking for him. Let's hope the years of training he's put them through will be worth their while...

Like the previous games in the series, Youngblood is a first-person shooter set in an alternate history where the Nazis won World War II. Unlike the previous two games, this one's a two-person co-op game with a more open structure. You'll need to team up either with another player or with the game's AI if you want to get in and out of this terrifying alternate vision of Paris alive.

Arkane, the studio behind the critically acclaimed Dishonored series, has lent MachineGames a hand on level design, and it shows. They're much more open than in previous games, with plenty of ways to approach an objective (including, of course, lots of roofs). It gives you and your partner plenty of space in which to get creative, finding space to flank enemies and sneak about the place.

You have some flexibility in the order you approach missions in, too, with a hub world and Paris's metro system through which to access primary and secondary missions.

Of course, there's some exotic retro tech on offer, including mechs to fight and armour for the sisters that can be customised alongside the game's skill trees.

This is one war that isn't over yet, and it needs you.
