Summary

After leading us out into the stars with Beyond Earth, Sid Meier's Civilization is back in the business of taking players through the grand sweep of history with Civilization VI.

As ever, the Civilization VI is a turn-based strategy game in which players attempt to build an empire that will stand the test of time. Become the ruler of the world by starting your civilization in the Stone Age and guiding it right through to the information age. Wage war, conduct diplomacy, go up against some of history's greatest leaders and progress your culture as you attempt to dominate the world.

The big change this time out is to the way cities work and grow. Now you'll see them grow across the map tiles they control instead of simply exploiting and improving them. That might seem like a purely visual change, but it actually reflects changes to how they operate. They're broken into districts, and as you progress through the tech tree you'll be able to unlock new types. You can't just go for a uniform approach of gathering a bit of everything anymore, however - geography will determine what you can and can't do.

With active research that can unlock boosts to your civilization's progress and dynamic diplomacy that changes over the course of a game, Civ VI rewards players who can react and make short-term decisions that benefit their long-term strategies.

This console release includes all the improvements made to the PC version since it launched, as well as four content packs: Vikings Scenario Pack; Poland Civilization and Scenario Pack; Australia Civilization and Scenario Pack and the Persia and Macedon Civilization and Scenario Pack.
