Nintendo and SEGA Portables - Together at Last!
Modding old consoles is lots of fun, isn't it? A great engineering challenge, but ultimately pretty rewarding. Some clever chap has managed to revive his aged Game Gear, by fusing it with a Game Boy Advance. The result? A SEGA console that can play Nintendo games on the go.

The video below comes from YouTuber ModGyver, who showcases three Game Boy games running on the modded Game Gear: Mario Advance 2, Sonic Advance 3 and classic Tetris. It doesn't look like there's any implementation of L and R buttons, but the tech tinkerer appears to have cut the Game Gear's power requirements by half - opening one of the two back panels to reveal no batteries.

No doubt this isn't the first time a modder has attempted to bring a GBA and Game Gear together, but we rather liked the execution of this effort. ModGyver also has a portable SNES prototype on the go. Check out his other videos here, and give the Game Gear one a gander below.
