Ian Livingstone

Born: 1949

Ian Livingstone has been in video games, in one form or another, since before many of us were a twinkle in anything at all, never mind our fathers' eyes. Having co-founded Games Workshop in 1975, he brought Dungeons and Dragons to Europe and co-produced the Fighting Fantasy series of interactive game books with Steve Jackson.

Moving on to the games industry, he became deputy chairman of games company Domark, proving instrumental in its merger with then-technology company Eidos. He served in a number of senior roles before being named Life President of Eidos in 2009. In addition to his industry achievements, Livingstone has received an OBE and a BAFTA.

Ian Livingstone's first video game work that SPOnG is aware of is the 1984 title, "Eureka" (C64) as Lead Programmer.

Ian's most recent involvement was as Original Concept on the 2002 release "Beach Life" (PC).
