Warthog was founded in April 1997 when a group of ex-Electronic Arts people came together with a vision to build the best development-only studio in the business. With the technical foundations firmly set through the creation of a state-of-the-art gaming engine, the team secured a contract from Digital Anvil/Microsoft to develop Starlancer for the PC.
Hailed as the best space adventure of its generation, Starlancer paved the way for Warthog to establish a dedicated Playstation development team. Contracts to develop a Star Trek title for Activision quickly followed and the company is now working on a wide range of titles for publishers such as Infogrames, New Kid Co., Activision, Actualise, Psygnosis/Sony and Swing/Conspiracy.
The founding philosophy of creating a pure development studio is still firmly in place and the dedication to quality, professionalism and the usse of the very best technology that has already carried Warthog such a long way, remains rock solid.
Warthog's first work that SPOnG is aware of is the 2000 title, "Starlancer" (PC).
The company has been involved titles released on the PC, DS/DSi, PS2, PSP, Xbox, GameCube, GBA, PlayStation, Game Boy Color and Dreamcast. Of these, "Tom And Jerry" (PlayStation) and "Animaniacs: Lights, Camera, Action" (DS/DSi) have been best selling titles.
The company's most recent involvement was on the 2005 release "Sticky Balls" (PSP).
