Other things not to have been confirmed by Rockstar include the near earth-shattering revelation that GTA SA includes options for a 2 player mode. Although people who have seen and played the game swore testament to the fact that the 2-player mode exists, and the back of the game’s box says ‘Players: 1-2’, Rockstar insist that this isn’t the case.
But regardless, as Rockstar has said “GTA has always been a single player game” (except for
Grand Theft Auto London with LAN network play, notes SPOnG, inwardly), and so this multiplayer malarkey really isn’t the issue. As an extension to the GTA 3 lineage, San Andreas looks set to ingratiate itself to most of the PS2 owning world. Outside of that, there will be uproar: there are drug references, obscene amounts of violence and a certain satisfaction awarded for malicious behaviour. Six months down the line someone will blame this game for making them do something inexcusable. But for the month following this game’s release, watch those inexcusable people disappear into their living rooms.
You and a girl; hot 2 player action?
