Electronic Arts has been releasing a game based on the National Hockey League ever since the early 90’s. The series has been available on different platforms and now finally resides on the PC as the best selling hockey game around. If you love the fast paced exciting game of Ice Hockey, then NHL 2000 is right up your alley.
NHL 2000 successfully captures the excitement of the professional leagues and brings it home to your PC. Ice Hockey is a game of tension and drama, partly because it is a relatively low-scoring game. Goals often come in the last few minutes in a hectic fashion.
If playing as a professional team is not appealing enough you can choose to create your own custom team from scratch. You can edit everything from the jersey, to the logo and the names of the players. A fantastic new feature is the face importer. You can map a digital scan of your face onto the players in the game. This adds a realistic touch that personalises the game like none before. This is a cool feature for multi-player games as it allows you to see familiar faces as you body check them.
Graphically, NHL 2000 is a polished title, from the presentation to the in-game visuals, complete with their little touches such as the reflections on the ice. If your PC is up to the challenge, you won’t be disappointed with the way this game looks.
