Charles Cecil is the name most closely associated with Revolution Software, based in Hull, England.
Charles began commercial programming in 1981 on the Sinclair ZX81 with a series of adventure games published by Artic Computing. He briefly became a director of the company, before being tempted away to US Gold and then Activision, where he held the position of Development Manager.
In 1990, Charles established Revolution Software where he has remained as the company's guiding light. At the helm, Charles has overseen the creation of some of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful point-and-click adventures, including Beneath a Steel Sky in the Amiga and more recently iPhone, and the Broken Sword series.
Software Highlights from Credited Titles
Charles Cecil's first video game work that SPOnG is aware of is the 1981 title, "Adventure 'B'" (Spectrum 48K) as Original Concept.
Charles's most recent involvement was as Original Concept on the 1981 release "Adventure 'B'" (ZX-81).
