Summary

Wacky Races for the Gameboy Colour is one seriously impressive title. Infogrames has managed to capture the essence of the original 1960’s cartoon and translate it into a videogame. The cartoon series was an all-out action packed crazy race to the finish with plenty of surprises and comedy. Dick Dastardly would always try to win the race by cheating and to this day he was never successful. Now it’s your chance to control the action and anything can happen in this wacky race.

The graphical ability of the Gameboy seems to have been redefined and new standards have been created. Wacky races is vibrant, colourful and detailed, making it so aesthetically pleasing. The game is almost in 3D with a smooth update that adds to the playing experience. Now, graphics don’t mean a thing, if they ain’t got that swing and Wacky Races doesn’t disappoint in the gameplay stakes.

This title is a racing game with weapons and power-ups. Tokens collected mid-race give special abilities to your character that can help your progress significantly. Having a speed boost near the end of a race could be just what you need to win or alternatively, it’s possible to lose everything in the blink of an eye.

Wacky Races is one of the best racing games available for the Gameboy.
