Summary
And here come those crazy, zany Wacky Racers and they’re lining up at the start on your PC. Wacky Racers was a popular Hanna-Barbera cartoon featuring a mish-mash of popular characters such as the Ant Hill Mob and Dick Dastardly and Muttley in an action packed race for victory. The characters took it in turns to comically try to stop each other in their bids for victory using an assortment of acme-style antics. Dick Dastardly always went for the most underhand tactics and as usual he would fail right before the finish.
Wacky Races for the PC follows exactly the same format as the show but this time around you’re in control of the action. The aim of the game is simple, try to finish each race in first place. Unfortunately, the other racers aren’t going to let it be so easy. Each vehicle has access to a selection of weapons and mobility gadgets. In true cartoon fashion, oil slicks and giant hammers etc. are used to immobilise the driver in front of you and the mobility gadgets help to navigate the levels. The mobility gadgets include wings that can make your car fly for a limited period of time, handy for making sneaky little shortcuts.
Wacky Races features 7 cars from the series that you can race in either single races, Championships or alternatively you can choose to take part in a battle mode. Tracks can only be raced in single race once they have been unlocked in the Championship. There are a total of 40 different tracks spread across five cartoon environments, and that’s plenty of racing. With loads of gadgets, over 20 in total, you’re bound to have some laughs with this game.
Just bear in mind that while you can take out the person in first place right before the line, the same can happen to you. See you at the finish line.
